About Washington

Washington has many great things that make it a wonderful place to live. The community offers fun activities like pickleball, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a public pool where families and friends can spend time together. There are also beautiful parks to relax in - including one for our furry friends -  and enjoy the outdoors. With a hospital and doctors’ offices nearby, residents have access to important healthcare services right in town. The town also has a pharmacy, a dentist, physical therapists, and eye doctors to help meet people’s medical needs. . We also have a fire department and a police office, making for a very safe community.

 

Washington has important local businesses. There is a coffee shop where people can gather and visit, as well as several car mechanic shops and two gas stations. The town also has hair salons and a daycare for families. Nationally-known KSDS is part of the community and helps put our small town on the map.

 

Throughout the year, Washington hosts exciting events that bring everyone together. Popular events include Fall Fest, the county fair, and the Turkey Trot during Thanksgiving. Plus special events like Santa’s Gifts and Goodies and the Fourth of July fireworks bring extra excitement and holiday spirit each year.These celebrations give families and friends the chance to have fun, make memories, and enjoy being part of a caring and active community.
