Statue of Liberty replica
A historic Boy Scouts of America replica honoring liberty since 1949, this Washington landmark now also features an America 250! Patriot Marker celebrating the nation’s founding and enduring spirit of freedom.

The Statue of Liberty replica in Washington, Kansas is a meaningful local landmark tied to a nationwide initiative by the Boy Scouts of America called “Strengthen the Arm of Liberty,” created to celebrate the organization’s 40th anniversary. Distributed between 1949 and 1952, these replicas were placed across the country, with Kansas receiving around 26. Standing approximately 8 feet 4 inches tall, the statue mirrors the original design, complete with torch and tablet, and rests on a base featuring a plaque that honors those who fought for liberty and celebrates American freedom. In 2025, the site was further enhanced with the addition of an America 250! Patriot Marker by the Daughters of the American Revolution, commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary, recognizing Revolutionary War patriots, and promoting patriotism as part of a nationwide effort.
