Located in downtown Washington, Kansas, the Washington County Historical Museum preserves and shares the rich heritage of north-central Kansas from the mid-1800s to today. Housed in the historic former First Baptist Church, the museum features exhibits on pioneer life, local military history, and community development, including artifacts from early settlers and Washington County veterans. It also highlights the area’s connection to the “Horse Soldier” story and Mark Nutsch, with memorabilia tied to the nearby Horse Soldier Monument.
